How Laurie Laizure is connecting thousands of designers through social media

What if you could ask a few of your designer friends – say, over 100,000 of them – about how they would handle a business challenge or concern? Such as: What do you do when there is a misunderstanding about the budget? Or: How do you mark up receiving and storage fees? Or even: How do I tell my client that I’m pregnant?
For many designers, they turn to the Interior Design Community, a network founded by Laurie Laizure that has become a go-to resource for interior designers (who have asked those questions above and many more).
The Manchester, N.H.-based Laizure – who is not an interior designer herself – started the group as just a way to meet interior designers when she was new to the industry, running a customizable wallpaper company out of her home. Social media and other online tools fascinated her and she wanted to share what she was learning with interior designers.
